My lecture visits the 32 years that I have been exploring the world of quilting. I began quilting in 1994 when my sons were two and four after a trip to my sister in law's house. She had quilted for many years and told me that I should try it. Leaving with a bag of fabric, a pattern for a small wall quilt, and a fifty dollar Singer sewing machine, I began my odyssey.
I will take my fellow quilters down a memory lane of patterns, designing, frustration, fabric, thread, etc. My journey may be similar in some ways but we all have different stories to tell. I enjoy sharing my creations with fellow artists that enjoy fabric as I do. Isn't that what it is all about?
Lecture fee: $100 plus mileage for nearby locations Accommodations when necessary.

Star Storm6-hour class This class is the mini version of Victoria Findlay Wolfe's larger quilt. It is comprised of ten separate star sections and uses as many fabrics as the maker would like. Her original had more than fifteen. This striking pattern is not for a beginner but an advanced beginner who is proficient in the basics can certainly be successful with this project. Pattern required.
$45 per participant minimum 5 participants
One Block Wonder 6 hour class If you have wanted to try a one block wonder but do not fancy hexies, then this less complicated version is for you. Using four repeats of fabric and a rotary cutter, quarter square triangles create a fascinating quilt. The key is to have a minimum 18-24 inch repeat in your fabric. This quilt can be created by beginners to more advanced quilters. The photographs show the original fabric and the quilt that was made.
